Mel/Mac Owed Writers Money

Were these three complainants the only writers that Mel/Mac did not pay? Has she since paid everyone she owed money to, in full? It's ironic that AW is doing precisely the same thing as the so-called 'scammers' they so love to savage. This is hypocrisy of the very worst kind. It has definitely earned them a place in the Bewares, Recommendations & Background Check section of their own site.

FIRST COMPLAINT
[RC] (name not published here but was, of course, provided to the publisher) alleges you owe her $150.00, that you only responded to one of her numerous emails, and that you promised to send payment on Monday, September 1st, but did not. See her allegation under my signature.

SECOND COMPLAINT
LF (name not published here but was, of course, provided to the publisher) alleges you owe her $360.00, and that you've ignored all but one of her emails over the past year. See allegation under my signature. We were also alerted by another writer who claims she was reprimanded for putting a link to WritersWeekly.com in a forum post she made at your website.
LF stated:"I find it ironic that someone who runs a site for writers would hold off on paying her own writers for so long. I taught these students, they paid McAllister, and I deserve to be paid. Can you help me? "

THIRD COMPLAINT
"LW (name not published here but was, of course, provided to the publisher) alleges you owe her $150.00, have owed it for a year, and that you're ignoring her emails. Why is a website that claims to support writers not paying freelancers what they're owed?"

"IS MACALLISTER STONE RETALIATING AGAINST WRITER / INSTRUCTOR FOR REPORTING HER FOR NON-PAYMENT OF A DEBT THAT IS ALMOST A YEAR OLD??
LF from the second complaint above sent in a copy of an email she received from MacAllister Stone. It states she's going to stop advertising the instructor's class because the instructor filed a complaint with WritersWeekly against MacAllister Stone / AbsoluteWrite.com.

MacAllister Stone claims she's making small payments to everyone she owes money to. Removing an instructor's class from the market, just because she reported you for non-payment, is, in our opinion, retaliation. The instructor confirms that her class was indeed removed from AbsoluteWrite.

Due to the people who are owed money by this MacAllister Stone / AbsoluteWrite, and because of this retaliatory action, WritersWeekly must recommend writers / instructors avoid doing business with this website."

According to this Mac is pulling in over a hundred bucks a day on ad revenue. Do the math. That amounts to around $40,000 a year. Yet she still can't pay her writers.

I am skeptical of that amount money. I'm not saying it couldn't be but I run a forum and 40,000 for a forum the size of AW that number seems pretty low.

I agree. Mac is pulling in a way more than that, you can bet the farm on it.
