Mac is now denying membership and banning members for no reason

We've had a number of reports from writers who tried to join AW, only to receive the type of message captured below. It should be noted here, that these writers had never been members of AW previously. It looks as if Mac is getting seriously paranoid, and thinks everyone attempting to join AW is one of the so-called 'trolls.' The only reason Gypsy Harp can come up with is that he was at work at the time and posting through a proxy. If Mac is simply assuming everyone who uses a proxy is a so-called 'troll' then she needs to educate herself accordingly. There are many, many Internet users who always use a proxy for security reasons. Law enforcement agencies advise it. Mac is also suddenly banning members for no reason as well.

    It defeats me why anyone would WANT to join AW. It's a horrible forum full of horrible nasty people, and the Big Mac is the nastiest of the lot. Hi Melody, how are the horses doing?

    I tried to register (and not through a proxy) and got the same reply. I asked for clarification but I haven't gotten a reply. She really is paranoid.

    Is it possible this is a glitch in their system? If it isn't then Mac truly has gone round the twist. All those years of nastiness and fighting everyone in sight must have taken their toll. I pity those poor horses.

    This is not a glitch in the system. If it is, then there must be something wrong with Mac's email addy too, for she's ignoring everyone who has questioned what this policy means, and how it is arrived at.

    If you take a look at the new members thread you'll see there are very few new members any more, and there used to be dozens. Mac thought she could be as rude and abusive as she liked and the members would just keep on a coming. But what she failed to realise was that writers are a limited market, and when the word gets out there -- as it has done -- the forum will quickly go downhill. We can see that's what's happened with all these awful ads and the begging bowl for donations.

    I belonged to AW when Jenna owned it. But soon as Mac took over there was a bad smell and I haven't gone back there since. She's a nasty piece.

    I was a member when Jenna owned it as well. It really has gone downhill with some abusive moderators. She likes banning "sockpuppets" which is completely hilarious now that it's known she's spent years lying about her identity.

    And . . . let us not forget the $$$ she has generated for the advertising on the site. There was a lot of high traffic at times. Most of which was generated by purposeful investment in false conflicts to draw traffic to the site . . . writers have been scammed by this bitch for years. Keep in mind also the other players that have supported this site . . . Strauss, Macdonald, Scalzi, Hines, Crispen, TERESA NIELSEN HAYDEN . . . and others. Let's see (watch) who supports it all now.

    She's denying membership the paranoid bitch because she's afraid that one of us will post a link to this forum on AW. She forgets there is more than one way to skin a cat, or a bitch. Most of the regulars at AW have websites where they flog their books, and contact email addresses. I've already started doing the honours.
